My name is James Mills. I'm a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) of around ~15 years of experience. I was up late one night poking around the Internet for a good "decentralised social network" I could easily run myself on my own infrastructure. Nothing I found I really liked (including Mastodon).

Then I came across the wonderful and simple twtxt spec from @bucket in ~2016. I was a bit late to the party, but better late then never!

So now I have launched a created an exciting NEW Social Media Network for you! Its a bit like Twitter™ if you're familiar with that. The key important difference is that we never collect any personal data from you or user behaviour. We never sell your data (there isn't any to sell anyway!). We don't operate on a advertising business model. We focus on your privacy and your right to express your ideas and opinions freely and openly.

Right now today Twt.social (https://twt.social) is FREE! The first of (hopefully many) Pods will very likely remain free but at some point as we encourage more folks to run their own pods, open registration may be turned off.

We need your help! We need a small amount of funding so we can really kick the project into gear! What do we need funding for?

• An Android engineer to build an app for the Android platform.
• Lots of work to be done on the backend and API

We already have an iOS App that is in a private beta! We already have a nice Web Interface that also wrks very nicely on Mobile.
