Cipher is a private messenger built on a simple promise: your conversations are yours.
Every message is end-to-end encrypted, so the server only ever handles unreadable ciphertext — I can't read your messages, and neither can anyone who gets hold of the server. There are no ads, no trackers, no analytics, and no phone number required. The relay is built to hold as little as possible: messages are deleted the moment they're delivered, IP addresses aren't logged, and with sealed sender the server can't even see who a message came from.
Why I'm asking for donations
Cipher isn't funded by ads or by selling data — because it has no data to sell. That's the whole point. But keeping it online still costs real money: the relay that delivers your encrypted messages has to run 24/7.
Your support goes straight to those server costs. It keeps Cipher free, independent, and private — answerable to the people who use it, not to advertisers or investors.
