ZigzagDownLoader (ZDL) is a download manager:

• equipped with command line user interfaces (CLI), for terminals (TUI), graphics (GUI) and for internet and web applications (Web-UI);
• handles downloads of some downloaders such as Aria2, Axel, Wget, RTMPDump or cURL, using its potential (for example, download acceleration);
• extracts the URL of the files to be downloaded from file hosting and video streaming services, also using youtube-dl extensions (or extractors);
• downloads TORRENT;
• automatically requests and downloads files via IRC/XDCC, without any human interaction via chat;
• downloads movies LIVE from some television networks
• extends web browsers, such as Conkeror, XXXTerm/Xombrero and, using Flashgot, Firefox;
• the External Application Button extension integrates ZDL into Firefox, Chrome/Chromium and Opera;
• using Cygwin, it also works in Microsoft Windows (CLI and TUI interfaces, also from Firefox + Flashgot of Windows).

The server and web interfaces, for remote and network control, make it a useful tool for a Network Attached Storage (NAS). The interfaces are responsive and suitable for different devices. In particular, they can also be used as a remote control for launching multimedia files already downloaded or being downloaded, using a web browser on mobile devices.

Furthermore, the Web interfaces (Web-UI) and graphics (GUI) allow the quick and intuitive search and selection of files via XDCC, without having to perform any IRC/chat. All interfaces allow live-tv recordings to be programmed.

But ZDL is also much more, because it can be:

• combined with other programs or inserted into a script, as a work tool
• extended by the user, who can develop new extensions suitable for their purposes
• a polyglot system, using different interpreters (for PHP, Javascript, Python, Perl, Awk ...) and Bash tools

ZigzagDownLoader is a "zigzag" program: it is not just a program, it is a laboratory and a system open to new inventions.

ZigzagDownLoader (ZDL) è un download manager:

• dotato di interfacce utente a linea di comando (CLI), per terminale (TUI), grafiche (GUI) e per applicazioni internet e web (Web-UI);
• gestisce gli scaricamenti di alcuni downloader come Aria2, Axel, Wget, RTMPDump o cURL, utilizzandone le potenzialità (per esempio, l’accelerazione dei download);
• estrae l’URL dei file da scaricare da servizi di file hosting e video streaming, facendo uso anche delle estensioni (o estrattori) di youtube-dl
• scarica i TORRENT;
• richiede automaticamente e scarica file via IRC/XDCC, senza alcuna interazione umana via chat;
• scarica filmati LIVE da alcune reti televisive
• estende i browser web, come Conkeror, XXXTerm/Xombrero e Firefox;
• l’estensione External Application Button integra ZDL in Firefox (anche Flashgot), Chrome/Chromium e Opera;
• usando Cygwin, funziona anche in Microsoft Windows (interfacce CLI e TUI, anche da Firefox + Flashgot di Windows).

Il server e le interfacce web, per il controllo remoto e in rete, ne fanno uno strumento utile per un Network Attached Storage (NAS). Le interfacce sono responsive e adatte a diversi dispositivi. In particolare, possono essere usate anche come telecomando per l’avvio di file multimediali già scaricati o in via di scaricamento, usando un browser web su dispositivi mobili.

Inoltre, le interfacce Web (Web-UI) e grafica (GUI) permettono la ricerca e la selezione, rapide e intuitive, dei file via XDCC, senza dover compiere alcuna operazione IRC/chat. Tutte le interfacce permettono la programmazione delle registrazioni live-tv.

Ma ZDL è anche molto altro, perché può essere: * combinato con altri programmi o inserito in uno script, come strumento di lavoro * esteso dall’utente, che può sviluppare nuove estensioni adatte ai propri scopi * un sistema poliglotta, utilizzando diversi interpreti (per PHP, Javascript, Python, Perl, Awk...) e strumenti della Bash

ZigzagDownLoader è un programma "zigzag": non è solo un programma, è un laboratorio e un sistema aperto a nuove invenzioni.
