Quicksilver Browser, bringing refreshing changes to the desktop browsing experience.

Being an avid web user, I realized that browsers (across all platforms) have not made any relevant usability or innovative changes for more than a decade, the experience have been stagnant and inconvenient for the most part.

A common trait across industries, because of the same Western monopoly and influence.

As a designer I had to bear through shadows on tabs that were not implemented properly on the Firefox browser for several years. Notwithstanding the other pesky issues, like having to always go to Settings to change ‘Save to Default/Downloads folder’ or ‘Choose where to save each time’, which is something that changes frequently depending on our use cases. Surprising that none of the browser developers have thought of these issues so far.

This prompted me to start thinking of developing a new browser, based on the Firefox code, which is open source. Some of the changes that I intend to bring in (apart from the ones mentioned earlier) are:

A revamped UI with a Colour Theme that complements the user’s browsing experience. A reimagined Fullscreen mode experience. A fresh take on Tab Groups, with dedicated sub-tabs. Shift + Mouse scroll to switch tabs backwards or forwards. Option to set Default Auto-Complete Websites in search bar. Download option reworked to give all the relevant settings conveniently.
